Demodex mites are microscopic parasites that live in hair follicles and at the base of your eyelashes. Feeding on skin oils and dead cells, they lay eggs around the eyelid margin and often go unnoticed. Over time, their presence causes inflammation, blocked glands, and dry eye symptoms.
