PROFESSIONAL WORK EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL THE TIME OF CAME TO CHECKUP MY EYE .Posted on Google Yasin ATrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently took my mum to the Harley Street Eye Centre, and I honestly cannot praise them enough. She was quite hesitant about going when it comes to your eyes, you donโt take any chances, and you need to be in the hands of people you can truly trust. From the moment we walked in, any nerves she had just melted away. The staff were incredibly professional, warm, and reassuring throughout the entire experience. They made my mum feel completely at ease, which for someone who was apprehensive about an eye appointment, meant the world to us. Nothing felt rushed, and you could tell they genuinely cared about their patients. They examined her thoroughly, gave a clear diagnosis, and sorted the issue without any fuss. The whole process was smooth, straightforward, and stress-free from start to finish. If you or a loved one are looking for an eye clinic where youโll be treated with the utmost care and expertise, look no further than the Harley Street Eye Centre. Absolutely first class. Weโll be coming back without hesitation.Posted on Google Pablo KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Good staff amazing customer servicePosted on Google Robynne HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with this clinic from start to finish. The whole team were friendly, helpful, supportive, and incredibly professional throughout the process. They gave me all the information I needed and seemed to be very thorough during the assessment, which made me feel confident and well informed before going ahead with treatment. During the laser eye surgery itself, I felt completely reassured and in highly professional hands. The staff were calm, supportive, and talked me through everything, which really helped put me at ease. Iโm over 40 and had an over/under correction approach to hopefully reduce the need for reading glasses in the future, and the team explained everything clearly so I felt comfortable with the decision. Just a few days after my LASIK treatment, I already have better than 20/20 vision and itโs crazy to see everything in what feels like HD. I also have thin corneas, so I wasnโt sure if Iโd even be suitable for surgery, which makes the outcome even more amazing for me. Iโm pleased I decided to go ahead with the procedure and would highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering laser eye surgery.Posted on Google Jill STrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I underwent LASIK surgery at Harley Street Eye Centre in March and would like to share my very positive experience. The entire process was handled with a high level of professionalism and care. Dr Ghabara, who performed my surgery, demonstrated exceptional expertise, and the procedure itself was smooth and remarkably efficient. The overall experience was excellent. I would also like to acknowledge Dr Hakam, who served as client coordinator and ensured that every stage of the process was clearly explained and well organised. In addition, April and Amanda at reception provided consistently courteous and attentive service, contributing to a welcoming and well-managed environment. I am particularly pleased to report that my recovery has been entirely uneventful, with no issues following the LASIK procedure, and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. I would confidently recommend Harley Street Eye Clinic to anyone considering laser eye surgery.Posted on Google Antonio BTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, usually due to elevated intraocular pressure. It is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness but can be managed effectively with early intervention.
Left untreated, glaucoma can progress without symptoms until vision is permanently affected. Regular eye exams and specialist care are key to preserving sight.
A slow-progressing, chronic form where fluid drains inefficiently, causing pressure build-up. Most common type.
Caused by sudden blockage of the eyeโs drainage system, resulting in rapid pressure rise.
Develops as a result of another eye condition, trauma, or medication.
A rare condition present from birth due to abnormal eye drainage systems.
You might need glaucoma care if:
Youโve been told you have high eye pressure
You have a family history of glaucoma
Youโve noticed vision changes or blind spots
Your optician referred you for glaucoma testing
You want a second opinion or feel unsure about your current plan
We offer a full spectrum of modern glaucoma treatments tailored to your stage and severity:
Each treatment is selected based on your eye anatomy, glaucoma type, and how well you respond to initial management.

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions in which the optic nerve becomes damaged, often (but not always) due to elevated pressure inside the eye. Over time, this can lead to gradual, irreversible loss of peripheral vision. Because vision loss is typically painless and subtle at first, early detection is crucial.
Most types of glaucoma cause no symptoms in the early stages. As the condition progresses, patients may notice narrowing of side vision or patchy blind spots. Acute angle-closure glaucoma โ a separate, urgent condition โ can cause severe pain, blurred vision, headache, nausea, and haloes around lights.
Damage from glaucoma is permanent, but early diagnosis allows treatment to prevent further loss. Regular eye examinations are essential, especially if there is a family history, high eye pressure, or other risk factors.
The centre provides three main categories of treatment:
Eye drops reduce pressure by either decreasing the amount of fluid produced in the eye or improving the drainage of fluid out of the eye. Several classes exist, including prostaglandin analogues, beta-blockers, and carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. Your consultant will tailor the regimen to your pressure targets and lifestyle.
For many patients, drops are the first line of treatment and can successfully control eye pressure long-term with good adherence. Regular monitoring is still required to ensure stability.
SLT is a gentle laser treatment that improves drainage through the eyeโs natural outflow pathway. It is non-invasive, painless, and usually completed within minutes. It can be used as a first-line treatment or alongside drops.
Many patients maintain good pressure control for several years after SLT. The effect can diminish over time, but SLT can be repeated if necessary.
SLT uses lower energy than older laser methods, making it more targeted and often better tolerated. There is minimal downtime and no incision or tissue damage.
MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery) involves implanting a tiny stent or device to enhance fluid drainage within the eye. These procedures are less invasive than traditional glaucoma surgery, involve quicker recovery, and can significantly reduce eye pressure โ often reducing the need for long-term drops.
Suitability depends on the type and severity of glaucoma, current eye pressure, previous treatments, and overall eye health. MIGS is commonly recommended for patients with mild-to-moderate glaucoma or those undergoing cataract surgery who would benefit from pressure reduction.
Yes. Glaucoma stent surgery is typically performed under local anaesthesia, often at the same time as cataract surgery. Recovery is generally quicker and more comfortable than traditional glaucoma surgery.
Glaucoma requires lifelong monitoring. Depending on the stability of your eye pressure and optic nerve, you may need appointments every few months. Monitoring may include pressure checks, visual field tests, nerve imaging, and optic nerve examinations.
There is no cure โ but treatment is highly effective at preventing further vision loss. Many people with glaucoma maintain good vision throughout life when diagnosed early and treated appropriately.
The centre provides consultant-led care using modern diagnostic tools, personalised pressure targets, and the full spectrum of treatments โ from drops and laser to minimally invasive stent surgery. Emphasis is placed on early intervention, long-term monitoring, and ensuring each patient has a clear understanding of their treatment plan and expected outcomes.
Your glaucoma treatment assessment is complimentary. An hour with our diagnostic team and a real conversation with the surgeon who would treat you. No obligation.
